Problem:
Modern (cheep) hifi systems dont have an input for a turn-table.Solution:
Build a RIAA amplifier into the turntable, how hard can it be.Result:History:
In this excact situation, a Fisher turntabel was under the Goffy-knife, and it had been before, as it once was part of a complete hifi-setup, it was supplied with a 16V 50hz supply from the orginal amp, now being R.I.P as the owners female resident of the house found out that it should be trown out. women...Here we are, and we have:
so, long time ago, a quick hack was done with a 230V->16V 50hz capsulated transformer, works like a charm
after that, it was discovered, that the new "hifi" did not have an input with Riaa-amp. Only normal line in. Suprise suprise, thats what you get when you buy a "Lumatron" hifihaha...
- 1 turn-table with RCA(us)/phono cables cables comming out with a RIAA mV signal
- 1 input card from an old Akai amplifier, with RIAA input on it. Kindly supplied by MHL
- some wires and normal tools
The Akai board had a m5218 dual lownoise OPamp on it for the RIAA part.
wires from the turn tabel was solder in the input, output was connected to the orginal wires going out of the turn-tabel.
For power, a +16V was stolen from the small linear PSU (also internal) used for the DC motor running the LP round and round and round and round..
A Fully functional Turntabel with Line out and a 230V connector just begging to be connected to the outled.
